A plague erupted, killing most of the world’s population and forcing the remaining eleven families to unite and rebuild. In order to maintain some form of normalcy, the families agreed to split the remaining population into three societies:
Extronarus, the first society, catered to the highly intelligent, physically gifted, and artistically inclined population.
Athertown, the second society, named after financial founders, Arthur and Athena Towson, is a self-governing community built from the structures of typical suburbia with an emphasis on technology advancement.
And lastly, there is Ahverage, the society based around the concept of living free in every way possible.
Each person is granted the opportunity to reside in a particular society based on a series of tests. Those who score high get to choose where they want to live while those who score low or fail are immediately taken to the squalors of Ahverage.
The tests range from written assignments to virtual reality simulations that cause the user to experience slavery, the Holocaust, the Indian Massacre and more for the purpose of observing decision responses and increase diversity trauma awareness.
Everyone must take the tests.
Trevor Fracaso, born and raised in Ahverage by his single father, never imagined being able to live anywhere else. That is until his estranged mother sent for him to move to Athertown and take the test on his 18th birthday. Trevor reluctantly accepted the invite and ventured into a new world engulfed in customized traditions and deep societal secrets that if exposed could change the world again, forever.
